The All-New All-Electric MINI 3-Door and MINI Countryman Officially Launch in Vietnam.

Honouring Heritage. Opening a Fully Electric Era.

On December 6, 2025, THACO AUTO and MINI officially introduced the all-new all-electric MINI 3-Door and MINI Countryman to the Vietnamese market. These two models mark the starting point of MINI’s electric line-up, opening the door to a new trend of environmentally friendly mobility.

More than a launch, this milestone signals a new chapter for MINI—bringing modern, stylish, and high-quality electric vehicles to customers, while preserving the unmistakable character and spirit that define the brand.

MINI’s journey has long been a source of inspiration for automotive enthusiasts around the world. In 1956, Europe faced an oil crisis that sent fuel prices soaring, forcing car manufacturers to rethink mobility and envision a vehicle that was smaller, more efficient, and more practical.

At the time, Sir Alec Issigonis—a British engineer of Greek origin, known for his uncompromising standards and brilliant mind—was tasked with creating “a small car for the whole of Britain.” After an intense discussion, he sketched a rough concept on a blank sheet of paper: four wheels pushed to the corners, a transverse-mounted engine, maximum interior space, and minimal exterior dimensions. The idea was so simple that many considered it “mad.” Yet it was precisely this bold thinking that changed automotive history. From that rough sketch emerged one of the most influential cars of the 20th century—compact yet ingenious, efficient yet full of character—introducing the idea of pure driving joy as a defining statement for small cars.

In 1959, the first Mini hatchback was launched, and everything that followed became history. More than half a century later, a new era arrived—the era of electric mobility. In 2008, the MINI E debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show, marking the British brand’s first step into electric vehicles. With remarkable foresight, MINI used the invaluable data gathered from MINI E as the foundation for the MINI Electric / Cooper SE, the first mass-produced electric MINI to carry the legendary go-kart feeling into a zero-emission future.

Today, as the world evolves faster than ever, MINI moves forward with even greater boldness. The brand has announced its continued commitment to expanding its electric vehicle portfolio, including Cooper Electric, Countryman Electric, and Aceman Electric, all built on a dedicated electric platform. That ambition has now officially reached Vietnam with the arrival of the all-new all-electric MINI 3-Door and MINI Countryman—a powerful expression of MINI’s promise to preserve its playful, distinctive, and creative spirit born in 1959, while driving confidently toward a cleaner, more exciting future.

The New All-Electric MINI 3-Door: From Legend to a New Era.

The all-electric MINI 3-Door embraces a minimalist design, staying true to MINI’s “less is more” philosophy. This contemporary design language gives the brand’s iconic model a distinctive character, seamlessly blending heritage values with modern innovations—while keeping the driver experience at the heart of every detail.

The new all-electric MINI 3-Door measures 3,858 x 1,756 x 1,460 mm (L x W x H). Its body features a clean, refined design with a clearly defined three-part structure. The traditional scuttle panel has been removed, creating a smoother, more seamless body surface.

Contrasting window surrounds against the roof reinforce the car’s distinctive identity, while the bonnet stands out with two bold character lines running lengthwise, positioned close to the headlights. The front bumper has been further simplified, highlighted by a new closed octagonal grille. One of the most instantly recognisable details of the all-electric MINI 3-Door is the yellow “S” badge on the front bumper—a signature element of MINI’s electric design language.

The new all-electric MINI 3-Door retains the brand’s classic round headlights, now featuring significantly slimmer surrounds compared to the petrol-powered MINI 3-Door. A key upgrade comes from the LED daytime running lights, which introduce distinctive light graphics along with “Welcome” and “Goodbye” lighting animations. These elements bring the car to life, enhancing interaction and elevating the overall driving experience.

The rear of the new all-electric MINI 3-Door has also been refined, giving the car a sleeker and more streamlined appearance. A centrally positioned, embossed MINI logo anchors the rear design, while the black rear bumper integrates the brake light and rear fog light seamlessly.

A key highlight is the taillight design, featuring a stylised Union Jack graphic framed within a distinctive triangular shape. The all-electric MINI 3-Door is also equipped with a shark-fin antenna, now recognised as a signature element of MINI’s electric models. Completing the look are 18-inch Night Flash Spoke 2-tone alloy wheels, adding a bold yet refined finishing touch.

The New All-Electric MINI Countryman: Starting a Boundless Green Journey.

The all-electric MINI Countryman measures 4,445 x 1,843 x 1,635 mm (L x W x H), making it the largest version of MINI’s renowned Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV) to date. The front end features a newly designed bumper and a large closed octagonal grille, complemented by angular lower air intakes.

A striking highlight of the all-electric MINI Countryman is its trapezoidal LED headlights, accented by illuminated LED outlines and eye-catching main light elements. To maintain a clean, minimalist exterior, the door handles are seamlessly integrated into the bodywork. The C-pillar flows smoothly into the roof, finished in elegant Piano Black, while the roof rails have been refined for a more sophisticated appearance.

The MINI Countryman’s versatility and robustness are further emphasized by its 202 mm ground clearance and a rigid chassis, supporting confident, safe, and comfortable driving—even across uneven terrain.

At the rear, the design stands out with the MINI logo and Countryman lettering, while the bumper cladding emphasizes horizontal lines, giving the vehicle a more solid and commanding presence. A key highlight is the all-new taillight design, featuring slim, elongated trapezoidal LED units with softly rounded edges that follow the contours of the rear, creating a cohesive and fluid visual effect.

The signature yellow “S” badge continues to feature on the all-electric MINI Countryman, reinforcing its electric identity. Completing the exterior are 20-inch Windmill Spoke 2-tone alloy wheels, adding a confident and modern finishing touch.

Interior: The Beauty of Minimalism.

The interior design of the all-electric MINI 3-Door and MINI Countryman shares several common elements, most notably the new MINI Toggle Bar, which integrates five key functional switches—parking brake, gear selector, start/stop, driving mode selection, and volume control—each distinctly designed and intuitively positioned. Both models are equipped with wireless smartphone charging, conveniently located beneath the Toggle Bar. The central dashboard is finished in knitted polyester fabric with refined two-tone colour schemes, reinforcing MINI’s modern approach to minimalist interior design.

Both models are equipped with a panoramic glass roof, creating a spacious and airy cabin atmosphere. With the rear seats folded in a 60:40 configuration, luggage capacity in the all-electric MINI 3-Door expands from 210 to 800 litres, while the all-electric MINI Countryman offers an impressive 440 to 1,450 litres.

The MINI Interaction Unit takes centre stage with a 9.5-inch frameless OLED touchscreen. Key driving information, such as speed and energy consumption, is displayed at the top of the main screen as horizontally arranged smart widgets. Below, intuitive controls for navigation, phone notifications, and audio functions ensure effortless operation. In addition, a Head-Up Display (HUD) positioned ahead of the driver presents driving data clearly and directly, enhancing focus and convenience.

Both models feature a newly designed sport steering wheel with multifunction controls. The seats are upholstered in premium Vescin leather, with the front seats upgraded to sport seats—inspired by the iconic MINI John Cooper Works models.

Digital Experience.

The new all-electric MINI 3-Door and MINI Countryman are equipped with MINI Operating System 9, enabling seamless smartphone connectivity and intuitive control via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The intelligent MINI Connected system allows drivers to easily monitor and control vehicle status directly from their smartphone.
